Your Day

Enjoy a moderate, five mile hike while taking in some of the Hudson Valley's most beautiful views. Your trail will start at a stunning mountain lake, but you'll soon venture through thick forest and emerge to see a sweeping vista over the Shawangunk Ridge and north to the Catskill Mountains. After a refreshing hike, enjoy some refreshing beverages in the form of small batch hard cider. Our visit to the cider mill will include a tour and an explanation of how these dry, delicoius ciders are created. During the tour, you'll be sampling a variety of ciders - all made with apples grown right here in the Hudson Valley.

The Hudson Valley also has a long cider making tradition. Before prohibition, cider apple orchards were common to find in the region. Cider has been made here for more than 200 years! Like many of the orchards in the area, our orchard has a long history. It has been a farm since the 1700s and the first apple trees were planted here around 100 years ago. The Crist Family took ownership of this orchard in 1963 and as leaders in the apple growing industry, grew both culinary and cider apples.

Perfect for:  First-time hikers, experienced hikers looking for a casual day, fans of autumn
